Birdie Turned Ten

Well my adorable "other" granddaughter turned ten and since she is not a girly girl I have to be very simple and plain in gifting her....so, I made her a journal/diary. She will decide what it is and how to use it. She loves the color blue so I did this with some great paper from a scrap pad that DD gave me. It's Colorbok and it has co-ordinating papers. The colors all match but I have some flowers along with strips. Simple to just cut and paste and put a wee "M" for Madison on the note pad. The big paper clip can keep track of where she has last writen. I used to babysit her from the time she was about 1 year old but I had to give it up when the family went from 1 to 3. This old broad can't race after kids like I used to. This darling girl's nickname is Birdie and that's what I will always call her, although she now is professionally known as Madison. We have a date for an after school outing on Friday and I have some money in a card that I know she will have fun spending.
In case you haven't noticed, I have now received 3490 Valentines in the drive for 1000. I have taken the liberty to call our local hospital's children's cancer center and they will happily take some of the extras. Hope that is Ok with everyone. I figure it still is Cards 4 Kids and they are all sick children so why not share the gold.

Oh I am happy to hear you have received so very many cards for the kids. I knew you'd go past your goal but I didn't think it would be that far over. Woohoo!! I only sent one package of cards and had hoped to send more but shortly after mailing my first set out my very dear friend was in a terrible car accident and is still fighting for her life. She remains in a coma. When I am not with her and her family I am sending them cards with words of hope. They say that all the cards they get from me and from others mean so very much. Please know this: you are uplifting folks with all those cards you give all the time too. It means so very much ... you touch more people than you might realize. Thank you. Thank you for all the cards you send on a regular basis and from everyone who chipped in this time too! Hooray for card makers and senders everywhere!! thanks for allowing me to help this time too. (my friend is Ann by the way, should anyone be so inclind to lift her in prayer)

LOL. 3,490 is more than three times what you needed and I think that shows how great all of the crafters are.

I'm happy that someone gets what I do, so I'm okay with it being given away to any other charity.
