Must take a time out

Well I need to take a few days off as we had a death in my family. My brother in law passed away and all of the services are a distance away so no time to make cards for posting. Be back maybe Friday. Have a good week.

Three Cheers for the Red, White, & Blue

Well today's challenge at notimetostamp is use of red, white, and blue and although you don't have to be patriotic...I chose to since Monday is our Memorial Day and our Canadian friends had last Monday as Victoria Day. My phrase is a Denami stamp which I used denium colored ink on and along with my Nesties label 2 dies, a bit of polka dotted paper and ribbon from good old Mike it was a piece of cake.Put a little bling on the stars and in each corner.Hmm did I say piece of cake?? Well that reminds me,
my neighbor is going out of town for the weekend and he asked me to keep an eye on his place and I assured him I would pay extra attention to the fridge so he better make sure it was well stocked. He thought I was kidding and well I guess I was but if I have a sudden urge for something like ice cream I have his key.
Hope you all have a great weekend. I have no plans except to finish my gardening and that's a big job. Happy Memorial Day to all us Yankees .Don't you think that the song "God Bless America" should be the national anthem??? I do because it seems like everyone knows all the words to it better then the Star Spangled Banner. Just my opinion.

It's Hip to be Square

Well today's Timeless Tuesday is to do a square card and so I did. When I photoed this card I must have been drinking as it looks a bit lop-sided;however, it is a 5x5 square card. I think it was Huey Lewis of Huey Lewis and the News that sang that song...it's hip to be square. Like his philosophy because I love to be square every now and then but on to the card.
Used olive card stock and put my beautiful very pale Basic Gray's Sultry mat and then used Flourishes tulip stamp and also the thank you from the Gratitude set. Not really sure if I have the title correct but I think I'm close.Added a bit of ribbon from Mike's along with a little bling I found while on a recent visit to his place. He is so nice to deal with and very helpful too. So it's a simple card with a bit of water colored pencil usuage and boom, you are fini.

Brusha brusha ...

Well this piece of art came to me from my dearest little 5yr. old GD Ellie aka Miss Elizabeth Grace. She does the finest coloring in all the state of Montana and lucky for me she sends it on to adorn my fridge. Thanks Ellie..you are too sweet for words. Since I recently had to have some periodental surgery I guess this should be a lesson to one and all....keep those brushes working.

Man ribbon...manly card

Well the Friday challenge at notimetostamp is to make a manly ( if there is such a word)card and use like string or twine etc. My etc. is I guess called hemp.
Mr.Webster of the dictionary fame says...hemp has a strong stem that yeilds a course fiber that is used in cordage and I think mine is that cordage. Love that word, it's manly and so that is why I used it for my " manly" ribbon. This lighthouse is a stamp I borrowed from a friend and stamped off so....don't know who made it. Just very lightly colored it, added some of the seagulls along the side using my water-mark ink and the Happy Birthday from Just Rite. Simple card and suitable for my
manly card.
Well it's the weekend again and I'm in the process of spreading 3 yards of cedar mulch in my flower beds and trying to exterminate the weeds. I scream die weeds die, but for some weird reason they are too ornery to oblige. Makes me feel like as I grow older I grow more irritable. Dang! Have a fun weekend.

It's my Party and Cake and Ice cream will be served at 2 p.m.

I'm loving getting old, the birthday cards are the best. I loved these two from some friends I have had for over 50 years.
This cute old broad is having a blast and in case you can't read it she say's "I was mugged the other day, A hooligan in a ski mask ran his dirty hands all over my trembling body. I said, "Young man, I don't carry cash! but if you do that again, I'll write you a check. Don't let anyone rob you of a happy birthday.

This one says
If Life's a Beach...where the hell are our cabana boys? I'm the one in black and white suit with the red bathing cap on the right. Nice bum eh ! Yep, when I was a young kid we called our rear end's bums, not butts or arse's.
And just so you know I plan to have a wonderful 72nd. birthday. My niece Punkin is taking me to lunch today and tomorrow my sister is taking me to lunch and next Weds. my cute little neighbor Johanna is taking me to lunch. Will I keep my bathing suit body neat and trim??? Oh well your birthday only comes once a year so I plan to enjoy it. Happy Birthday to me....bells and whistles and confetti all over the place.

Happy Mother's Day to all you Moms

Well I was out in the rain doing grass cutting, (which by the way is quite a feat for an old broad like me ) when the Tela Flora guy pulls into the driveway to deliver this beautiful rose arrangement. It's from DD Julie, SIL Ken, and the best two grandkids in the world, Cal and Ellie. I know they won't mind if I share it with all of you Moms out there. Happy Mother's Day and be sure if you get chocolate to save a piece for me... my weakness. Have a wonderful day!
Bit of floral info...the color pink represents: grace, happiness, and fun. Well that about sums me up doesn't it! You may now address me as " Your Grace" or Your Majesty.

Friday challenge make a "little" something

Made this little gift box for an "old" lady friend of mine, or should I say older lady friend since next week I turn 72. I have a bunch of tea boxes my son brought home from the coffee shop where he works and I thought to save them for future use and the future is now. Just covered it with DP from K & Co. added a Nestie cut out and a thank you along with some bling I found at Mike's. The stamp is Hero Arts. I want to say thanks to this woman who has been like a second Mom to me...she is the best! I'll fill it with chocolates and I know she'll share. Method to my maddness.
Well it's weekend time again and I'm going to start a walking regime to loose some of my fat around the middle. Heck it's around the middle, top, bottom and well everywhere. No more "skinny dipping" it's now chunky dunking. Diet time, here I come!
Happy weekend to you all and Happy Mother's Day to all the Mom's ( me too ) and Mom's to be.

You are my sunshine

Well the Friday challenge at notimetostamp is to use yellow, be sunny or something like that. "You are my sunshine my only sunshine", popped into my head and so I grabbed some soft yellow paper and created this card. Got the image in a swap so don't know whose it is...maybe SU but not sure. I do know it's a pretty iris and I have yellow ones in my garden so I copied ( I think that's called CASE )and ended up with what you see. Used just my old stand by water colored pencils as that's what I'm capable of using decently...I say who needs mineral spirits when there's tap water or a blender available. Got the yellow ribbon from Mike who continues to stock some pretty nice stuff. Have to say, I think it's a pretty card.

Well the story with my buddy Ray is...he grew the beard for the Red Wings play offs. Go Red Wings! That's the Detroit Red Wing hockey team and we are trying for the Stanley cup again. Wahoo what a great team and if all the guys around here want to wear beards to cheer them on then so be it. Have a fun weekend to you all.
