Timeless Tuesday sketch challenge

Today at Flourishes Timeless Tuesday there is a sketch challenge and by clicking the button on my sidebar you can get to their sight. My card is just a fun card made with the use of some cute DP by American Greetings. Cut 4 little squares, 1 Nestie circle, big flower punch, a little bling and using the word "hello" from Hero Arts I'm done. Very easy sketch to follow. Be sure and see what the design team did for their cards, as always very nice.

Pipe it...I say Pipe Down!

Well the Friday challenge at notimetostamp is to pipe it. Every a.m. my next door neighbor opens her car door at 5:30-6:00 and leaves it open and I am awaken to the sound of beep..beep..beep..beep. Well when this happens I am so tempted to open the window and yell Pipe down! She doesn't even leave for work until 7:30 but starts her car to make sure it is working. What a dip! But in keeping with the challenge my card is super simple, cute DP from Autumn Works, Stamp from Inkadinkado( reminds me of Jimmy Durante who sang inkadinka do ka dinka...member him? ) and the phrase is a Just Rite inked stamper for the Happy Birthday part. Well it is simple and that's what it's supposed to be.
Well it's weekend time again and I'm hopeing my buddy Ray from church doesn't make me get the giggles again. He shows up last Sat. after being away for about 6 weeks and he is sporting this Heil Hitler skinny mustache and this little pointed beard.
OMGoodness I thought it was Sir Graves Ghastly rising from his coffin to do the Sat. cartoons for kids. Oh Ray, good buddy give it up, it is too corny for words.
Have a fun weekend stamping friends. We are to get weather in the 80's . NICE!!!

Tea Party Came and Went Wahoo!!!

Well the tea party was yesterday and we will be able to send a slew of kids off to summer camp as we made over $10,000. Can you believe it? Well we had an anoymous donor who matched up to our first $4000 and we made the rest to bring in some really good money this year. It just gets better and better. We are all so very happy especailly the director of the foster care services we are dealing with. We will see many happy young faces this August boarding the bus and heading over to Lk. Michigan to have a wonderful week. Life is good and I'm sure enjoying it.
Forgot to say...my baby quilt sold for a whopping big $75 to a lady who is expecting her first grandchild. She was going crazy wild with the bidding and I was so pleased she got it.

Thread it...Friday challenge

Well today's challenge at notimetostamp is to thread it...could be threading a ribbon through or a button or sewing, well you get it don't you? I decided to thread some ribbon through my card because at my age threading a needle calls for major coke bottle glasses help. To thread the ribbon through was a dangerous task as I used my exacto knife and look out people Jack the Ripper is in town. Don't look to close or you'll see I didn't do a very even job but at least there is no blood anywhere. I used some neat paper I got from my boyfriend Mike's place and my Nesties for the circles. The stamp is from Autumn Leaves ( I love the cheap bargain basement prices on these stamps.)I tried doing this card with a phrase attached and it didn't do anything for me, no flutter of the heart beat or any excitement so I went plain. I added a little rust chalk around the outer edges of my stamed image to get it to blend with the rust color of the paper. That's it for the card.
Time for fun again and this weekend is the tea party to raise money for the foster kids to go to camp. Hope we get tons of money so we can send many kids to camp. I will bake my wonderful stuffed brownies...bet that makes you wonder doesn't it? Well they are super yummy little pocketed brownies that I fill with a cream and whipped cream filling. They are to die for and if you are very good I will give you the receipe one of these days. Have a great weekend and hug all of your loved ones good and tight. See you next week.

Tea Time

Well it's that time of year again when I try to help out the foster kids with a ticket to summer camp. So this Sunday is the tea party to raise a bit of money to help send them off to camp. I made these little folders as favors to put in front of the tea cups as a thank you for coming type thingie. It has a tea bag and an individually wrapped cookie to enjoy with a cup of tea. Boy it was a chore to find cookies that were wrapped so I wouldn't be touching everyone's cookies but my son was shopping at an Asian shop and found these cookies. Since the writing is in Tai or Japanese I have to assume it says...tasty little snack cookies for your eating pleasure while sipping on your cup of tea. What do you think??? I hope it doesn't say anything derogatory or nasty but if it does since it is not in English I guess I'm safe from the Samuri warriors swords or whatever they use to get even.
I used my Nestie scalloped circle and stamped my tea cup and colored with my water colored pencils. I have to complete 90 for the party and I have 40 done so I'm feeling pretty safe.

Happy Easter to you all

Well I received this adorable Easter card from my friend Mary Schreiber who lives in Minnesota. Thanks Mary for thinking about me and also for the wonderful Easter card.
I can't tell you about the stamps or paper but hey who cares anyway...I don't. I was just thrilled to get a special card from a very dear lady who has been a regular donor to my Cards 4 Kids program. Mary, you are one of those that have been faithful to the cause and I really thank you for it.
Happy Easter to everyone and I hope you all were very good and got lots of jelly bellies...I mean jelly beans, or maybe I mean, well hope you got lots.

Friday challenge ....hang it

Well today's challenge at notimetostamp is to hang it somehow or other. Well I've about had it with hang stuff, first a nasty "hang nail", then a broke off tooth that was "hanging by a thread", so now I'm ready to hang it up. My card reflects just that, as it's a pretty pitiful attempt at the challenge. Anyway I used some nice DP from K& Co. a lovely sentiment from Paper Inspirations, some ribbon that it's hanging from some wee bling things and a couple of Martha's punched butterflies. Can't blame a gal for trying.
Well today is Good Friday and I am heading to church for the service. I hope we all give thanks today to our Lord who gave his life so we could be free. Take some time this weekend to reflect on all your blessings and give thanks for all you have. Don't forget to show some love to your friends and family. Happy Easter to you all.

Time for Tea...again

Well it's tea party time again and I had to do some prizes and or auction items. I made a boy baby quilt and thought I would show you the pattern. It will be a rag quilt and I have to run it through the washer yet.The raggy side is underneath. I made one like this for my neighbor a few years back and just kept waiting to see it and never did. Finally I asked her where the quilt was and she laughed and told me...it's so soft I'm using it as a pad under the bed sheet. I nearly exploded! A pee pad ??? Are you kidding me!I put hours of work and love into it and it's a pee pad. Needless to say I won't be hand making her any other items. This quilt will be part of a baby boy basket and hopefully be bought with love intentions.

Well as you can see I got my quilt all cut and washed and now it is a rag quilt and I love it. I wanted to show you how cute it came out once it was ragged. This is the 6th. time I have done a quilt like this and I really love it. Hope whoever buys it at the tea loves it also.

The reveal....Hello fellow Bloggers!!!

This of course is the floor, the tiles are Mocha...not Latte but Mocha

The shower head is really COOL!!! It's a black tone with smeared bronzish copper.

The mirror is also a black tone with the burnished metalic colors, I bought it at Home Goods which is like walking into Heaven and not losing your total bank roll.

My cabinet is in a wood called Hazelnut whoever she is.

And last but far from least is the sink with the counter done in a speckled granite in shades of beige, brown or should I say Mocha, black and some flecks of whatever.
Love it all and now I have to get some great towels, and stuff to dress up my counter. I am one happy Queen now that I have it pretty much all together.

Fried, scrambled, over easy....Eggs!

Well Friday's challenge at notimetostamp is make it eggy. Well let's face it...anything will be an improvement over my go green attempt on Tuesday. But for an eggstra special treat I will post my "redo" bathroom this weekend. This queen will happily sit on my throne and just enjoy the beauty of it all. But for now I will try to follow the rules and let eggs rule. This is a little chickie hatching out for a glorious weekend with the gang. A very old Amuse stamp bunch. Opted to just forget the phrase but I guess I'd say it could be a Happy Easter card. Stamped and colored with my water colored pencils. Put some cute ribbon and a bit of blinged flowers and you are done.
Stay tuned for my big reveal...do I sound like Ty Pennington yet??? It is an eggstreme make-over on the throne room. Have a fun weekend friends.
