Please Read and Please Do As asked

First of all I want to thank all of you that have sent in cards for the program Cards 4 Kids, the outpouring of talent has been totally amazing. I do have a problem that I need to address and that is this....I have received many boxes and envelopes that once opened I am hit with the odor of cigarette smoke that is lingering on the cards. The problem is many of the sick children have respiratory difficulties and for them to receive a card that could further impare their breathing is just not a safe issue for them to deal with. So, if you are a smoker and are making cards for this program, I would appreciate as would the staff and the hospital, that you would not smoke in the area of your crafting. I know that those of you that smoke are not aware that this smoke odor stays with the papers. Thanks for listening and please try to adhere to this small request. I am trying to air out the smoke odor so these cards can get to the little ones who love getting them. Pat, and all at Children's Hospital of Michigan.

Oh how glad I am that the hospital has mentioned this request. My allergy hits on cig smoke like sonar in the Maryanna's Trench. A local cafe built a casino attached to cafe only to have fans oppose each other sending smoke into the eating area. What a tummy turner and reason to walk out not eating a bite. Thank you for your most current reminder.

I don't smoke and have never tried to get the smoke smell out of anything but do you think that if you put the cards in a container with some activated charcoal (not touching the cards of course) that it would take the smell out of the cards? Or maybe baking soda? I hope you can get the smell out of the cards.

Pat I am not a smoker so not an issue with the cards that I am making. And, I just want you to know that I am making a few cards... just haven't got them in the mail yet. Hope you are able to get the cards aired out.

put the cards in a freezer ---in a day or two you should see a huge difference
