Timeless Tuesday on Wednesday...late again

My pick from the inspirational choices at Timeless Tuesday.

Well you guessed it...I'm a day late and a dollar short ( vacations can be costly), but I'm here to join in on the challenge to be inspired. I was inspired to try and come as close as possible to my choice and copy as much as possible so you knew I was really paying attention and trying. See the damask like look on my card as it mimicks the above photo and then I used some darker blue cardstock to mimick the chair color ( I'm a bit off color wise but as I said I'm trying.) then I copied the bed-head and used an ivory color with my Nestie # whatever and stamped my flowers and believe it or not...they are a Narcissus rather then a daffodil as I'm sure the designer of this flower wanted them to be, but I said to heck with it and made them my own. Did you know that the daffodil is a Chinese sacred lily??? Me neither but that's what I've been told. Anyway the Narcissus is usually white with a yellow/orange center so that's what I did here. Simple card with some embossing in white using the Flourishes Lace Edge set and my flowers are from the ever popular ( with me) calendar set, little phrase is from tag a line. Add a bit of ribbon, slap it all together and fini.
Happy week everyone and since I've been away awhile I won't use the colored eggs in the fridge since I know I didn't dye any yet. Better safe then sorry.

Just Fake It....

Well sorry you weren't pleased with DD a.k.a. Dust Rag posting for me so I decided to return for Flourishes challenge Timeless Tuesday. Today Betty challenged us to be faux ( better known as fake) and of course for me this was a very difficult challenge because I am a very sincere and true to myself and everyone else too. I used the Gerbera Daisy set and took the two little butterflies and colored them with Copic Markers. Yes, I did say they were colored with Copic markers and then to give them some special sheen ( also known as a bit of a shine) they were embossed with clear embossing powder. This was a simple card using some BG paper called Ambrosia ( which is a marshmallow salade with coconut and fruit) so that 's a strange name for paper now isn't it! Slap that on some black cardstock along with a little punched edge done with a MS punch , do a bit of paper piercing , add a black fancy schmansy ribbon and you are done.

The "fake" part of my card is actually a faux metal tag. I used two sizes of circle punches to create a silver frame around my butterflies and message to make it look like those little metal rimmed tags.... go figure! I found the tutorial over on SCS right here.

I must really appologize for calling DD a Dust Rag and I think because she is a spawn of mine I have to change her name to Maiden Anne of the Rubbermaid's court. Happy week fellow stampers.

A.W.L.

Hey all... Julie here... my mother "instructed me" to let her fans know that she is on leave -- AWL (absent with leave) for the next 10 days to visit with her grandkiddos, daughter (me) and her SIL (son-in-law) She sends her best and promises to share all the fun and creative things that we've got cooking!

Signed,
The Rubbermaid's Daughter
(I asked my mom what the daughter of a rubbermaid should be called and she said, "dust rag" and there, friends, you have it!)

Timeless Tuesday...sketch challenge by Silke

Well today's challenge for Timeless Tuesday is a sketch challenge by Silke and you can see what I did to the sketch below.
I guess I deviated somewhat but did manage to get all the elements in anyway...I just switched them up a bit. You can see the sketch challenge deets at Flourishes by clicking here. I once again used the calendar set which as you can see by now I am loving. Very versatile and to me...just the right size stamp to use on die cuts. I chose the crocus and just did a bit of water coloring with my good old pencils. The verse is from Flourishes Gerbera Daisy set. Ran my white through the swiss-dot embossing folder that Cuttlebug puts out and after using a few Spellbinder cuts I'm good to go. Add some fancy pantsy ribbon, some blingers and wahoo!!! Fini.
Went to the gym today to work out with all the hunky, muscle chunky guys who are so much fun. They come to the machines and I play dumb and I've got them instructing me for FREE ! Now that's pretty clever if you ask me and if you don't ask me well that' Ok too. I have one favorite that comes up to the stair step machine and yells...Come on Mama, you've got to burn it. Here's these young chicky do's going a mile a minute and there's me just barely moving. I am trying and I am getting better. Lost some good poundage so far but have to keep at it.
Well happy week fellow stamper.

Friday Challenges...pink/green and pink/green/brown

Well now you've heard of a 2-fer ( and I don't mean a baby tooth) I mean making a challenge work for two places....I'm doing a 3-fer on this one-fer card so let's go. First Flourishes is asking us to do a pink/green color combo and notimetostamp is asking for pink/green/brown and I missed last Friday at notimetostamp which was to use a scallop sooooo....1-fer, 2-fer, 3-fer. Pretty smart now isn't it? I think so. Well I used Flourishes calendar set and picked out the aster stamp and using some Basic Gray or is it Grey DP called sultry for my background paper along with my faithful colored pencils, my Nestie circle and scalloped circle I was almost home free. But as we all know...you've gotta have bling, so I added some sweet little pink rhinies, a bit of ribbon, and 2 scalloped edges done by MS ( Martha you know who) and Fiskers and low and behold I've got a card. My little word friend is on the calendar set.
Happy weekend fellow stampers. Iactually have a nice evening planned for tomorrow night. Meeting a friend at her church for Sat. night mass ( that's the Catholic service in case you didn't know) and then we are off ( we both are a little off ) to dinner at one of the fine restaurants in the area. Maybe a glass of vino or a dirty double dirty martini, who knows what evil lies in the hearts of men??? The Shadow knows...memba that one? Fun time for all.

Flourishes fun day....CASE

Well how sweet is that? I get to copy and steal everything and not get arrested for it. Since I have been committing a deadly sin of Sloth ( fancy word for laziness) lately this was right up my alley .Mr. Webster says it's an aversion to work or exertion and I say Phew on you. I feel everyone has the right to be lazy every now and then so....I cased DD's easy peasy card cause I'm lazy crazy and a little bit hazy. This was so simple even a nut case like me could do it in nothing flat. Run your top part ( well I mean the top part of the card stock) through the Cuddlebug embossing folder and just take Flourishes Lace edges to the bottom, use Spellbinder's tag cutting die and one of the little phrases from tag a line, add a few blingers and you are ready to get back to your slothing. Seriously now I really have to find something to keep myself busy with. Perhaps I need to get some employment but I am so bored lately I don't know if it's the weather or just me. Happy week fellow bloggers.

Bathroom Goodies

New picture on wall

Shower curtain...tones of browns and almost a grayish brown. Beautiful but pricey .

Waste basket and soap dispenser dark brownish black with the tile type work in the center.

Working on Timeless Tuesday but not coming up with anything as yet so instead I'll show how I'm getting my bathroom assecessorized. Remember it's a brown walled room and I decided since my fixtures are in black with burnished coppery color I wanted to stick with that plan. It's really quite lovely as of course I do have excellent taste in my decor. I'll try and do a card and report back tomorrow. Happy week fellow bloggers.

Timeless Tuesday ...Scallop

Well today at Flourishes it's time for the Tuesday challenge and Cindy is challenging us to use a scallop. Love scalloped potatoes will that do? Think not so I'll try and be good. This image is from the calendar set which surely provides some lovely images and I chose the primrose. Did you think that the primrose was only in yellow with a wine color center??? Wrong, it actually comes in many different colors so after my research I knew I could use this lovely ribbon which looks like the flowers are primroses. Just stamped and colored ( with ...yep you guessed it , my faithful colored pencils) I don't have a copic marker in the house and I'm Ok with that. Used the stamp with the water mark ink for my beige panel. Did my scallop with my Fiskers punch and used my Nestie Ok I will tell you the number today, it's label 4 and my little phrase is from the tag along set. So there you have it.
Weather has been pleasant with sunshine and close to the 40 degree mark. Can't complain when the sun is out. It's that scary time of year when we have to think of summer coming and our fat little butt cheeks need slimming. Yikes! But I did something for me a few weeks ago...I joined the gym and am working out 3 times a week for an hour each time. Don't treat the guys to my leotards yet, as well if truth be known ...Can't get them on. Hey, maybe Mr. Right is at the gym. Happy week fellow stampers.
