Wishing You Good Things

A few weeks ago when I was at my daughter's house, we grabbed her Art Impressions stamps and did a few cards with a very old technique. Art Impressions has watercolor stamps that you use with Marvy markers. Color the back of the stamp, stamp on watercolor paper and go over the whole thing with a waterbrush. When you are done, you have a creation that really looks like watercolor. I took a class at least 5 years ago on this technique and remember coming home and calling Julie right away. She had never heard of this. Before I knew it, she had a slew of these stamps and was teaching classes on the technique. See what we start with eachother?

Here's a close up of the birdie
That's it for now. Thanks to my dd for taking the pictures of my cards while I was there.

Update on Tea Party

Well the tea party was a huge success and we raised over $2500.00 to send kids to camp. It was a shock to us all that we did so well in such a short period of time. We pulled this off in just 3 weeks . Everyone had a great time, the desserts were very decadent and the best part of it was that many kids will have some fun this summer. I'm pooped but it's a good tired feeling.

Raffle Garden Pail

This is a little garden bucket I put gardening things in. It has a garden rake, visor, 2 pairs of garden gloves, knee pads, 2 adorable seed tins, and markers for the garden. We will sell raffle tickets and then give it to the drawn number. I have been busy making up gifts to be raffled off in hopes of bringing in more money for the foster kids to go to camp. It is a rewarding project.

Tea Party Favors

This is the favor I came up with for a tea party my friend and I are putting on at church to raise money for poverty stricken children. We hope to send them to summer camp as they never get to go far from their foster or state care homes. So far we have raised a very goodly amount and the closing date is not yet here. My stamp is a Hero Arts which I think goes along with the seed packet nicely as it says, " May all your days be sprinkled with flowers." I punched out some little daisy flowers to cover my dollar store lable on the tope right. I did these in about 6 colors.

Black Accents Challenge

This is for Sharon Johnson's challenge to use black as an accent. I used some Miss Elizabeth's paper from the Dollar Tree and the pink circle is a sticker that matches. Nestabilities large and small cirlces and the phrase is Impression Obession. Very easy card.

A Sheltering Tree....

This is a card made at a class taught at my LSS My Craftroom where we were very fortunate to have Dream Weaver's stencil designer Lynell Harlow as the instructor. How neat is that? Simple enough card using copper embossing paste and then red leafing ( which actually has gold, copper, and reddish tones to it). I hadn't done work with leafing in a long time so it was a fun and glittery class.

Here's a close up to really show the gold leaf...

My daughter did a similar card. We kind of took the same image in a little different direction. You can click HERE to see her card.

Have a great rest of your week!

Barefoot in the sand....

This is a Stampin Up stamp sent in an exchange from Jackie Jones to Julie, but since I'm in Big Sky country I had to use it as I think it is a sweet stamped image. Thanks, Jackie! Image is done in water colored pencils and added a little glitter for some bling, cause you've got to have bling. Used a flourish stamp ( Impression Obsession ) with water mark for a bit of a background. Easy work but nice. Loving my visit with DD and husband and of course those adorable grandkids who I can't hug and kiss enough. Good times !

Here's a close up of this cute little girl....

Color Block Challenge

I don't know how to send this to the challenge but this is what I came up with. You were to use at least 3 blocks of color. My stamped items came from my SBS 5 sister Cheryl and I don't know who puts them out. Just used water colored pencils.

Happy News !!

Well my DD Julie of Out to Impress has been chosen to be on the design team for Gina K. How exciting is that? I think she really is a fabulous stamper and deserves this so very much. They should be really proud to have her on their team. Congrats to Julie.
