Friday Challenge...Blue & Green

Today's challenge at notimetostamp is to use blue and green and do some piercing. Not body piercing silly but card piercing. This is quite obviously not my talent as even though I try to make a neat attempt I get no cooperation from the piercing tool.
Maybe I could invite in a few of those pesky mosquitos and see what they come up with. Anyhow, I used the two colors and used a SU stamp of this little boy playing in the sand. He looks happy to build a sand castle and why not. Used just colored pencils, my Nestie fancy rectangle, a little chip board button and some ribbon from Mike's place. Simple card.
Happy weekend to you all. We had a storm that broke the heat a bit and took away the humidity and I hope it stays that way for awhile. Keep your summer glow...open a bottle of beer.

Late again for Timeless Tuesday

Well I'm a day late again but I've been so busy with my front porch deck that I haven't had time to stamp. It's done and I'm happy because those pesky mosquitos thought I was Bella on that vampire TV show and they were out to get my blood. The hero Edward was standing by waiting to lick it off each and every bite. Delicious!
This was the challenge for Timeless Tuesday which was to follow a sketch and I did it. Click my Timeless Tuesday button on the right side to direct you to the challege.
My card uses a stamp set from Inkadinkado just stamped in black and used some chalk to blend into green tone of the card stock and mat which is Basic Gray's porcelain pad. Simple yet does follow the sketch pretty much except I was a rebel and put my little circle on the left instead of the right. Happy week and see you on Friday for the next challenge.

Double the Pleasure

Well today's challenge at notimetostamp is Summer Recipes. Make a card or recipe card with a favorite summer recipe on it. Well Flourishes challenge is to use a Spellbinder's die shape,so I decided to double your pleasure, double your fun with double, yes double, yes double...not double mint gum but double recipes. First I chose my favorite summer salad and it's a real delicious one so get your pencil and paper and get ready to copy these both down. Get up and get moving...what are you doing sitting there reading for??? When having a summer dinner party you will just love to serve this awesome salad and let's face it salade makes for a svelt body doesn't it? Just forget the dressing is loaded with fat and sugar cause dog gone it it's so good. This card kind of looks like a Smucker's jelly jar doesn't it? I just made a red card to accept my recipe and added some cute checkered paper along with my Spellbinders label 2 cut in half and a few red blingers for the corners, and a red polka dotted little knot. I'm so happy to share this with Y'all and I know you will be so happy at all the compliments you get when you serve it. Trust me on this one!

Well to finish off a great outdoor meal you need to put some lovin in your tummy and with this recipe for filled brownies you better believe you'll get that lovin! Doesn't everyone love chocolate and cream cheese and whipped cream??? Well let's face it chocolate is a veggie isn't it? Like it's made from cocoa beans and I was always taught that beans were a veggie so....it's a veggie. Now cream cheese and whipped cream are milk products so we should get our milk in everyday now shouldn't we? Of course we should so this recipe is very nutritional even though you think it's loaded with calories, look on the nutritional facts I just presented. This card is nothing to rave about BUT the recipe is. I just used some brown card stock a mat of design paper, my recipe and the little filled cupcake is a stamp from Hero Arts.
So to heck with the card...take down the recipe and make some for dear old Dad. You know he'll love them.
Happy weekend and Happy Father's Day to all the Dads out there. Our Dads ( mine and my kid's Dad) are in Heaven smilin down, so you that have your's here, hug & kiss them while you can.

Timeless Tuesday Challenge

Well today's challenge at Timeless Tuesday ( click my button ) is to create a card using one of Kimberly Poloson's posters as your inspiration. I chose one she calls Garden Shadow 1. I liked the fact it is done just in black and ivory and the image and DP more or less dominate. I used Flourishes Poppy and some wonderful paper from a pad put out by K & Company, added a bit of scallops by a punch from Martha ( Stewart that is ) and some bling black beads. Easy card with decent results. Cloudy here today after starting out as a beautiful sunny day the clouds moved in and now it's sort of hazy... me too. Hope your hump day is going well. See you on Friday for
another challenge.

Friday challenge Use Half circle

Well today's challenge at notimetostamp is to use a half circle in your layout. What do I know about half circles??? Well I've heard of half baked and half arsed,( which I am most adapt at) so how hard could a half circle be I asked myself. I don't do layouts most of the time in fact the closest thing to a lay out is when I laid out in the sun last summer but that's a whole different story. Anyway I used my large Nestie scalloped circle and a wee smaller one and then proceeded to cut them in half and voila...a half circle. DD sent me this pad of Basic Gray paper called porcelain and this is one of the sheets. Pretty nice. Along with my half cirlces I decided to use some nice black satin ribbon from my old pal Mike's place, some nifty little sparkly stones, a lovely stamp from SU, and a nice birthday phrase from Impression Obsession just stamped in nice black. Put it all together and it's ready for my friend's birthday. I will send her 2 cards, one pretty and one funny cause when you get older you love getting mail that is not a bill.
Weekend time and hopefully it will quit raining and warm a bit. Can't even get out to pull those pesky weeds and it's just breaking my heart. Oh, right ! Have a fun time good people . Tonight is the telling tale for our Detroit Red Wings and their quest for the Stanley Cup....Go Wings!!! WIN..WIN..WIN ! I'm wearing my red under panties to cheer them on.

Timeless Tuesday Wednesday

I can never seem to do the Timeless Tuesday challenge on Tuesday so I try for a Weds.
post. The challenge which is at Flourishes ( see the button on the right) is to use
Designer paper. Well I found this loverly paper at Mike's place on sale for $.49 and how could I refuse??? Well I could have walked past and said no but why should I when it's so dirt cheap. So...it's put out by Sandylion the sticker people and it made up in a simple card using just gray cardstock, my Thank you stamp , a bit of gold around the edge of my Nestie and well you can see the rest. Happy middle of the week. See you again on Friday for a new challenge. To lazy to tell you the maker of the stamp as it's in the craft room and I'm in the library so I guess you're crap out of luck. Sorry!

Gone to Pot

Well today's challenge at notimetostamp is Gone to Pot. Man oh man...if that ain't the truth I don't know what is. I tried on my bathing suit and it was way too friendly, it was hugging me like a second skin. Yikes where did all the poundage come from and whatever happened to that New Year's resolution..lose 20 pounds before swim suit time. Big joke huh??? Well I've heard of "pot bellied pigs" but don't like the idea of being a "pot bellied" old broad. I'm thinking my friend here has the same problem as me but she seems to be handling it pretty well. As for me, well I'm still thinking I have some time to shed the dread...oh foolish old woman. This is an Art Impression stamp just colored up with the infamous water colored pencils. Used my Nesties curved rectangles. If I had a phrase for this I'm sure it would be something like ...did you say I'm HOT instead of "lady you've gone to pot". Oh well ya gotta have some humor in life to keep it all together. I'm thinking maybe a girdle under the suit will do the trick what do you think???
Happy weekend to you all and if you have to try on a new bathing suit, try getting a new body first.

Timeless Tuesday....day late

Well Timeless Tuesday ( click on my logo and get there) was yesterday but I'm a day late and a dollar short so.... here I am finally making a card. The challenge was to
frame it. Well we've all been framed at one time or another so I figured how hard it that. I used my Nestie's labels 4 to create a spot for my phrase and one a bit larger to create the frame. My phrase is from Stampin Up and I added a Prima flower
that I disected, ( sounds like Biology class doesn't it) added a little bling bead, a bit of ribbon and my dotted paper is from K & Company which in this pad there are some cool patterns. Easy enough to do and since time is limited today with my garden going to weeds, I took the easy way out. Happy middle of the week to you all. See you soon.
