Timeless Tuesday on Weds. as usual

Well I'm back to my old bad habits of being late for Timeless Tuesday for Flourishes. However; since I just got home from DD's place you need to cut me a little slack. I really love this angel image but did not do it justice and I am well aware of it. This card lacks something and I personally don't like the plain top and bottom of the image panel. Sometimes I use the excuse of getting old when things don't go my way and this is one of those times, so deal with it. I used my faithful colored pencils and a blender to color the heavenly broad who thinks she's Louie Armstrong playing the horn. Got news for her...nobody can play it like Louie! This is a Flourishes image I bought last Christmas time and would you believe it's my first stamping of it? Used my "new " Martha doiley punch for the border and I have to tell you these dang punches do NOT cut through card stock. They sent me one for free but it sucks just like the first one I bought and returned. Used a corner punch and added a few blingies but you already know that. Happy day to you all and I will return on Friday.

HAhahahahahahaha!!! Heavenly broad!! Pat, you are TOO funny, always cracking me up when I read your posts! I just love your sense of humor, even if you are old! *smirk*
I don't think this card lacks anything! It's beautiful in color and design! Oddly enough, I always feel like square cards are somehow unfinished because they never look balanced to me. I guess it's the elderly perception huh?
Great job, and welcome home!

Well I think this is a beautiful card and sometimes the white space really accentuates the beauty of the image!! The border punches look awesome!!! A tip about that punch - mine is bad too - so are many that I've heard of because it is so intricate - so when you line up your punch, press to engage with one hand and then put your other hand on the rectangular piece that covers the actual punch mechanism and then press the punch all the way down. The pressure of both hands makes it punch much better!! Hope that helps!!
Thanks so much for playing along with FTTC this week!!! :)

This is beautiful ... love the borders. I have found that MS punches do NOT work with SU paper. It's too heavy and will only punch part way through. If you use a lighter weight paper you'll have more success. Of course it can't be too light ... that won't work either!! Usually 65# works best. Hope that helps

Hi Pat,

As usual your commentary brightens my day. I broke one of those punches using it on cardstock. I love that doily one so much though that I bought another. I use both hands and push down on the top while punching to get it through.

You're just cranky because you didn't rustle up a cowboy out yonder and you're taking it out on your pretty card. I personally think this card is gorgeous! The image really stands out with the lace edges and that ribbon. Oh and welcome back to the mitten.

OMG are you in rare form today. Welcome back! BTW I like the card just the way it is. I don't think it is misisng anything! Best, Curt

Pat I think your heavenly broad is beautiful! And I'm totally with you on some of the border punches. I was thinking that a couple of mine must be bad, and I was going to send them back... Guess I might as well not waste the po$tage from the sounds of it!

This is so beautiful, Pat!! Wonderful colors, coloring, and gold border punch detailing!!! Wonderful Christmas card!!! Thanks so much for playing FTTC!!!

Pat, as for that MS doily punch, I have returned that same pattern three times. I always exhange it for the same one, but when it stops working I have to have another!! Love my punches!!!
