Recycle... attempted to go green by using a market brown designed bag from Trader Joe's. Pretty sad attempt.
Well it's Timeless Tuesday at Flourishes and you are to go green...I took it as making a card out of something you are recycling. I got a bag from Trader Joe's and decided to cut it up and make a card. Well if you heard this story before it's because DD Julie does this kind of thing all the time. I have to tell you this little kid looks like he is REALLY spooked( the kid on the left) . All I can think of is...he stuck in his thumb and pulled out a ??? Poor child.Well I should have left this chore to DD Julie as my attemp is really funny but I told myself just do it and so I'm doing it.Don't ask about the stamp it's from some clear set and I'm too tired to go look.Being an old lady I do have some priveledges. Used some Pearl Ex gold powder and that's about it.

Friday Challenge use stripes or dots
Well today's challenge at http://notimetostamp.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/ is to use stripes or dots along with an additional paper. I chose to use the stripes for the bottom of this card and some dotted ribbon and some cute daisy paper. Paper is from my buddy Mike's place from a nifty collection from Autumn Leaves, Pretty Poppies. Love this cute paper, it has such great designs to offer. Anyway back to the card, what's to say? Cute paper a few punched flowers, phrase from DeNami, some bling and fini ( which is French for done).
Can you believe it's Friday again! My redo on the bathroom is coming along and I was told my throne will be up and working today. YEAH !!! Trapsing downstairs at 2 a.m. is not fun for these old bones. I'm giving my Arthritis rubbing cream a real workout from going down and up so many stairs so many times. Have a great weekend everyone and take time out to kiss the loved ones. See you next week.

Timeless Tuesday...Emboss dry or with powder
Well today is Timeless Tuesday at Flourishes and the challenge is to emboss...with ink and powder or dry embossing with a stencil. I chose to use the coffee set and emboss with ink and powder, wish I could jazz up my old face as easily by using ink and powder but that just ain't happening anymore so.... I used gold embossing powder on this one and just did a simple card with the cups, a phrase, and a bit of ribbon and bling.Poor quality picture and I frayed my ribbon...not a good showing.
I'm frustrated with this getting old business. Have trouble getting RX's filled with my so called medical coverage and they only want $203, for some asthma meds. It's a real crapper this "golden years" time of life. I think I'll hire a hit man and just call it a day. Just kidding DD !

Friday challenge ...Ribbon tab
Well to be certain I got this right I decided to add not one or two but three ribbon tabs. Fact is I didn't like my fat ribbons all that much so went with my sweet buddy Mike's $1 bin ribbon. As little Ellie would say one dollah makes you hollah. Anyway I used Kraft color for my base of the card then some pinkish kinda mat and then some cool K & Company background paper. My little birdie is from Stampin Up and my phrase is a Hero Arts one. I cheated and used Walnut distress ink to stamp with cause it produces the right shade of brown. I know I'm a real rebel when it comes to the rules but that's what makes life fun.
Hello....it's the weekend again and as I always say, I hope it is a great one. I'm not paying $10 to go to the fish fry anymore...that's too high for my old lady pension, so I'll just get some Gorton's frozen and do it myself. Cheap old broad, yep I know but my redo on the bathroom is costing big time. Have a fun time and see you next week.

Timeless Tuesday ...Ribbon
Well it's Timeless Tuesday at Flourishes and this week is the use of ribbon on your card. Well I started a seasons card collection last summer and followed it through back to Spring which starts in a few days. So I have posted my 3 old cards for summer, fall, and winter below and now I am ready for Spring. My card shows the first sign of spring....tulips. This is from an old Stampin Up set, just easily colored with my faithful water colored pencils. Add a few mats, and some dew drop type bling and some pretty purple ribbon from my pal Mike's place. Can you believe it really is coming and in just a few days...this Friday it will be the first day of spring. Yeah !!! Before you know it we will be swatting at mosquitos and sitting in our pools letting those hot rays burn our skin to a rich lovely brown tan. Holy moly I'm way ahead of myself but let's face it, we are all anxious for that wonderful summer sun.

Friday Challenge...use white mat
Well today on the Friday challenge at notimetostamp we are to use a white mat on our card. Sounds easy enough but since I usually use color for mats, it wasn't so easy to teach this old dog a new trick. I figure if it's wrong it's not my fault afterall I am an old dog trying to learn a new trick. So, I used a slate blue for my card matted with the white and then some nice K & Company DP, a lovely ribbon with the flower stamped and 3D'd ( Stampin Up) and a little phrase from Hero Arts on my lable Nestie. Add some stones for bling and you've got it. Wow...old dog + new trick= it's a done deal.
Happy weekend again. Hope you all have a great one. No nibbles at the fish fry so I'm cooking at home tonight and curling up with a blankie and watching TV. BORING !!

Timeless Tuesday At Flourishes
It's timeless Tuesday at Flourishes and the challenge today is a sketch challenge which you can find by clickling on my Timeless Tuesday logo. This is simple and easy, just follow the sketch and make it your own. I used my Nestie ovals and a stamp from the Flourishes summer on the patio set along with my Martha Stewart butterfly punch. I didn't check to see how Martha spells her last name...OMG if I did it wrong, I may have to go to jail with a do not pass go card and learn to knit ponchos just like dear old Marty did. No disrespect, but do I really want a poncho?
Answer is a big fat NO !!! Didn't color the flowers purposely just wanted to stick to the theme of red & black. Added some little sticker flowers from Sandy Lion sticker company or whoever.
Happy new week to you all.

Stamp Simply Friday Challenge...embossing
Well the Friday challenge at notimetostamp is to do some embossing. I think we all have a tendency to avoid embossing but it does make some lovely images. I used a Stampin Up flower done with gold embossing and my phrase is from Stampendous. I painted my little flowers with Pearl Ex paints to bring a bit of color, added some small stones a fushia ribbon, matted on gold and I'm done. Very easy and straight to the point.
It is dark and dreary here so it makes me feel dreary...come on let's see the sun. Happy weekend to you all. I plan to go fishing again tonight at the church's fish fry. Hope I catch something this week other then a cold or flu bug. Stay happy.

Timeless Tuesday ...Wednesday
Well so I'm a day late and a dollar short but here I am playing Timeless Tuesday for the Flourishes team. Challenge was to use a Nestie die or punch for card. I chose to use both my Spellbinder's Label 2 and another very old punch for my flowers along with the word from a Scrappy Cat stamp set. Very easy and simple to put together.
I'm busy with a remodel of my main bathroom on the 2nd floor so I'm in and out to Lowe's and Home Depot trying to figure out what I want. Happy hunting to me, and happy hump day to you all.
