Timeless Tuesday...think summer

Well hello fellow bloggers. Hope you are had a bang up 4th. of July and for all you Canadians...a bang up 1st. We had a big party in the sub. with lots of fun but NO FIREWORKS...because of the dry weather which has been so hot and has fires going all around. Better forget starting any new ones so they said no sky being lit with boomers this year. Anyway on to the challenge. Make a card that reminds you of summer. I love to read and when the weather is nice I love to sit outside and read a good book so this stamp from Kids at Play again no it's More Kids at Play made me think of being young and sitting under a tree reading. Stamped with sage shadow pad, used a couple circle dies, an embossing folder to get the scored panel for the bottome and some My Mind's Eye printed paper for the top. Add a knoted ribbon and I'm through. Think this took all of 5 mins or so. A real E & Q card...that stands for easy and quick. Just made that up but I think it's pretty clever. Off to a good end of the week with all my grass cut and weeds pulled so now I'm hoping it rains  cause I'm ready.
Have a happy weekend and see you next time for the challenge.

Timeless Tuesday...Friday night

Well guess what people??? I'm really late this week and I think this is a first, my posting a TT on a Friday and in the evening no less. Well so what I said to myself...better late then never and because the phrase says you're so sweet...just be sweet and accept my lateness. You're supposed to use your favorite stamp and die cut but hey how can there be a fav with the Flourishes sets??? Can't happen so I decided I would just choose the Strawberry Set cause it's time for home grown strawberries in let's see like Florida or somewhere right? I do love this set and I guess since I use the circle die so much I guess it's one of my favorites. Just found some sweet paper at our now closed scrap book store and thought it would do nicerly and so away I went with it. Punched the little fancy phrase holder and stamped my heart away. Used some bias tape type ribbon and that was that.
It's been so hot here I've been taking my DGD to swim as much as possible. Went to a city type pool today and spent over 3 hours in the sunshine and wonderful clean and cool pool. What fun. No cool guys in Speedo's though which I guess is a blessing. We had fun and we are now going to rent the movie Mirror  Mirror and have some popcorn and snuggle time. Have a great weekend fellow stampers and if you see any cute cowboys keep me in mind as I'm still searching.

Timeless Tuesday...what's on your desk?

Well it's time once again for Timeless Tuesday and we are to take a look at our desk and create from it. Well I just got this adorable set Summer Blossoms from DD's stash yesterday and  it was on my desk sooo.... I did what I was told for a change and made up a card with it. My card base is sort of lime green and I had some scraps of patterned paper so I went with what was laying around. Now I do a bit of laying around lately because of all the cotton in the air. Nasty stuff that makes my eyes and nose run so that's why I have perched my buttox on my living room couch and just plain cuddled up with myself. As you all know I would rather cuddle with a cowboy but no such luck. But this was an easy peasy card and colored with the old water colored pencils, added a Bow Easy bow and I'm pretty much done.
Got a new Hospice patient that I haven't met yet...that happens Thursday. My boss told me he is a hunky guy but has Alzheimer's so all he does is smile. You know what?? I can live with that cause come on now who doesn't like a good looking guy smiling at them. I for one am all for it. I'll let you know how it all comes out. So be good or bad fellow stampers and have a great week.

Timeless Tuesday...Father's Day

Timeless Tuesday...Father's Day at Flourishes... celebrate your Dad. Well my darling Dad has been gone now for 17 years, but I really wish I could give him a big hug and tell him what a wonderful father he was to me. Sweet, kind, and so very musical. He would sit with me and make me practice my piano lessons until he felt I was good enough to be heard. He sang with the Barbershoppers for years and years...in fact he quit when he was in his 90's because my Mom didn't want him driving anymore. He serenaded all the family at their weddings with his favorite for the occasion...Let Me Call You Sweetheart. He passed away on my DH's birthday on May 7, 1995 and wasn't here to sing for my Julie's wedding and I know she would have loved it.  So dearest Dad I say to you...thanks for the memories.

My paper is from Simple Stories and the phrase is from last year;s stamp set for Father's Day from Flourishes called What A Catch.
This card also qualifies for the challenge to use a letter in your art...Thursday challenge at Flourishes.
Hope you all have a great time with your father and honor him to the moon and back.

GS's new RIDE !!! Like WOW!

Well yesterday my GS Cal was gifted his first ride from his parents. I think he loves it. He was dumbfounded when they gave him the keys and told him there was something out front that was his. Needless to say he was shocked and so happy. It's a sweet Dodge Ram pick up and I know he will have many good times in it. Doesn't get his actual driver's licsence for another month or two but how sweet it is.

Timeless Tuesday...say thank you

Today at TT over at Flourishes we are to make a thank you card. Well I don't need one at present but it's always nice to have one available now isn't it? I used the image from Spring Bouquet and when it came time to put it together I didn't have a cute flower shaped button in pink so I went with the yellow. I guess it's Ok but would have preferred the pink. My card is a pink base ( of course you can see that ) with the bottom being dotted swiss. Did you ever wonder why it's called dotted swiss instead of let's say dotted french or dotted german? Anyway I used my favorite method of coloring ...my water colored pencils of course and my die cut is one from SU. The thank you phrase is from the Flourishes Clematis set punched out with the fancy little rectangle. And voila I'm done.
Really tired today as I did all my yard work and I guess when you get to be my age that is quite a feat! It looks lovely with my grass being a very healthy green and my flower box filled with the most beautiful deep purple petunias along with some lavendar bocupa flowers. I'll take a picture when they get a bit fuller but it sure is pretty. Hope you are all doing well and are experiencing good weather. It's a nice 65 here with plenty of sunshine. Good week to you all.

Timeless Tuesday....flower

Well TT over at Flourishes is to use a flower on your project. I chose the Clematis and made a cute little gift card holder I was taught at a SU meeting. This is so easy and comes out so cute I said hey why not share??? So here it is.
This is the inside part. You just take an envelope and score it in half and cut the flap in half and seal down the left side part. Decorate to match your outside and change it from looking like ...just an envelope.  On the right side you can put a little sentiment and drop you gift card in the open hole. Neat huh!
Here are a few more and as you can see...you could make the brown tone one for a guy pal or hubby or Sugar Daddy or whoever.Happy weekend to you all. It's turned cold here and good thing I left out a sweater to wear as I put the winter things away. Oh well....

Timeless Tuesday...ABC's

The theme this week at TT is to pick a letter and create using that as your focus. Well I picked the letter P...and it's "plain, pretty, purple, posies, pling(that's bling with a P) and some pollen due to the posies. I should also add presumptous when I said it was pretty...just plain pathetic on my part. All with the letter P!Hope I didn't perturb you all dear pals. So that is it in a pie...I used the letter P to it's fullest capacity. Used the astor set and just used some Grape Jelly Memento ink for the purple color. I guess I'm getting plenty lazy and just doing cards that are simple lately with no coloring unless I really have to. Slap on a purple ribbon which looks bluish here but really is P as in purple. Happy week fellow bloggers..or is it ploggers? Hot weather here, up to 83 today and just wonderful for posie planting. See you soon .

Timeless Tuesday...Pinkalishous or something

Well today over at TT we are to do it up pink. Soooo..I chose the Gerber Daisy set and went to work creating shades of pink. Did you hear about "Shades of Gray"??? Naughty you, now arn't you! That's a book written for how to tire both you and your hubby out or maybe even kill him with sex. Don't quite understand why you need to read a book about such a subject but oh well. I'm reading a book about anti-gravity and I just can't put it down...just kidding. This was an easy card using my faithful water colored pencils, a little flag-phrase and a button . How easy is that?? Hope you are all off to a good week. I am busy doing my yard clean up. Pulled the weeds cut the grass and trimmed my flowering bushes. My yard is pristine. See you soon fellow stampers.

Timeless Tuesday...butterflies

Well today at TT it's let's use butterflies. I took the liberty to do some weird coloring but it's not really weird because ...did you know there are 175,000 species of butterflies and the way I colored this one is due to a butterfly called "lemon emigrant".Picutured above so you don't think I made that up. I'm not completely nuts afterall. I used my butterflies from the Gerber Daisy set along with my dies from Spellbinders. Not much coloring just some cute paper put our by The Thrift Shop and I don't mean Salvation Army either. Easy peasy card with just a bit of rickity rack and crocheted lace added and I'm done. Got a dentist appointment coming and I hate that but I said to myself...you shouldn't not like the dentist cause he has fillings too ya know! And with that I say smile you're on Bloggers camera and pretty soon John Qinoutus may show up and ask you ...what would you do??? Tell him you're busy stamping and just don't have time for such foolishness. Happy week everyone.
