Timeless Tuesday...accent black

Well today at Timeless Tuesday we are to accent with black. For my creation didn't want to do 50 shades of black or gray so I calmed myself down and started to work with a simple plan. Used red for my card base added a black mat and then took my white mat and used one of my awesome embossing folders to give some class to the card. For my image I used the summer flowers and the phrase from Friends & Flowers. Simple yet clean Did a bit of coloring, used my circle cut to set my image off and with a small strip of black ribbon behind it I figured my accent with black was fini. Love black and red together. Hope you are all well and are off to a great week. Weather here is perking up and showing signs of Spring. Take care and see you again next time.

Timeless Tuesday...no red and green

Well TT over at Flourishes is to do a Christmas card/project without the traditional red & green ... easy peasy as my card to be sent out is not red and or green this year. I used white card stock and embossed the snowflake pattern for my background and then with some super sparkly paper I picked up at Hobby Lobby I used a Sizzix die and cut out my two flakes. Added a little jewel in the center and found an old stamp set from Hero Arts for my rejoice phrase which I stamped in as close to the color I could, using SU's razzle dazzle raspberry or something like that and I did a second generation to get the color to soften up a bit. Fini and to send these beauties off in the mail I of course had to put a crinkled piece of cs in the front of the card . This soft beauty of a card is as easy as punkin pie because I did all my embossing and die cutting and then just sat and slapped it all together.
Christmas shopping...oh dear what a dilema. Bought and took back 3 articles already and I'm getting too old for the hassel. Me thinks a card with some green stuff in it would be easier but my grass is no longer green so I guess that means putting in currency instead. Just kidding. Have a great week fellow stampers.

Timeless Tuesday...It's in the bag!

Well today at Timeless Tuesday at Flourishes Betty wants us to use  brown grocery bag paper on the card/project. Fun huh? Well I went all out and made some paper flowers out of my brown bag with a Sizzix's die. Decided to go as DD calls it shabby chic. Me shabby?? Me chic?? To clarify that's chic (not sheikh as in Rudy Valentino's sheikh).Don't know if  I'm  either but  I can do a card that way if I want to and so I did.

My card base is kraft, with a mat of ivory, and then some "chic" dp bought at Mike's pad. Didn't show who put it out because I used part of it previously and so the name is gone..sorry people. It's a soft denim colored blue and ivory so I wanted to bring that out in my flower. After cutting the different size flowers I brushed them with denim colored ink that Adirondack puts out. Now for some fun I used the Scor-Pal and did a bit of pleating out of the ivory card stock and then added some crocheted ribbon stuff to give it that vintage look. Guess I need to use some of that on myself to add to my vintage look (mine is wrinkled skin and old age spots) not so  classy, me thinks. After I slapped it together I added the little flag sentiment "thank-you" found in the Hello Hyacinth set. Put a few blingers on and I'm through here.So now it's your turn to get a bag (not a live one like me) and see what you can come up with. There's lots of ideas out there, just tune into one of them and give it a go. Oh, and be sure to check out the design team's work...they are listed and linked below.
