Friday Challenge...Stars & Stripes

Well using stars and stripes I just decided to take the easy way out and go with paper from Mike's place. There was no name on these 2 papers probably because they were so cheap somebody just ran them off to sell. I used my Nesties and a stamp from
DeNami which I stamped with denium colored ink. Added a few blings and a bit of ribbon and I'm done. Nothing special but my way of saying have a fun 4th. of July.
Hope you all have a rip-roaring fireworks display to watch and enjoy all the noise the fireworks always make....scary but fun. Never liked them as a kid or even as a young adult, I found them way too noisy but they don't bother me now. Does that mean it's time to have my hearing checked??? I wish they still had drive in movies in my neck of the woods because that was always a fun place to watch the fireworks & I mean the ones in the air, not the ones in the other cars. Happy 4th.

Timeless Tuesday...Wednesday

Well one thing you can count on is my always doing the Timeless Tuesday for Flourishes on Wednesday. What a loser...yep I know it but I just can't seem to get it done on Tuesday. Probably because I'm recouping from a roarous weekend of wining and dining and dancing and ....who am I kidding here? Well this week the challenge was to use chalk and I took it literally. I inked up my stamp with Versa's watermark ink and then tried to find the shadow of ink on the paper, dang it sucks getting old. I used Flourishes Spring * Ephemerals bleeding heart. That's * a hard word to say so I'm glad I just had to type it for you. Once I found the shadow I used a kind of fuchia color for the flowers and just the green for leaves, but since I wanted some definition I also used my colored pencils to kind of outline everything. Used
BG Sultry for the pink background paper and 2 of my Nesties for the shapes. Add a
phrase from DiNami and a bit of ribbon ( Flourishes beautiful brown chiffon ) and a few blingers. Done! Happy hump day stampers and I'll be back for another challenge on Friday.

Three Cheers for the Red, White, & Blue

Well today's challenge at notimetostamp is use of red, white, and blue and although you don't have to be patriotic...I chose to since Monday is our Memorial Day and our Canadian friends had last Monday as Victoria Day. My phrase is a Denami stamp which I used denium colored ink on and along with my Nesties label 2 dies, a bit of polka dotted paper and ribbon from good old Mike it was a piece of cake.Put a little bling on the stars and in each corner.Hmm did I say piece of cake?? Well that reminds me,
my neighbor is going out of town for the weekend and he asked me to keep an eye on his place and I assured him I would pay extra attention to the fridge so he better make sure it was well stocked. He thought I was kidding and well I guess I was but if I have a sudden urge for something like ice cream I have his key.
Hope you all have a great weekend. I have no plans except to finish my gardening and that's a big job. Happy Memorial Day to all us Yankees .Don't you think that the song "God Bless America" should be the national anthem??? I do because it seems like everyone knows all the words to it better then the Star Spangled Banner. Just my opinion.

Friday Challenge use stripes or dots

Well today's challenge at http://notimetostamp.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/ is to use stripes or dots along with an additional paper. I chose to use the stripes for the bottom of this card and some dotted ribbon and some cute daisy paper. Paper is from my buddy Mike's place from a nifty collection from Autumn Leaves, Pretty Poppies. Love this cute paper, it has such great designs to offer. Anyway back to the card, what's to say? Cute paper a few punched flowers, phrase from DeNami, some bling and fini ( which is French for done).
Can you believe it's Friday again! My redo on the bathroom is coming along and I was told my throne will be up and working today. YEAH !!! Trapsing downstairs at 2 a.m. is not fun for these old bones. I'm giving my Arthritis rubbing cream a real workout from going down and up so many stairs so many times. Have a great weekend everyone and take time out to kiss the loved ones. See you next week.

All that glitters is not Gold !

Well this card caused a storm of glitter all over me and my crafting table. You ask why??? Well it seems like my ribbon spool bought at my buddy Mike's place was on sale for a reason, and that reason being....it sheds glitter. Well what can you expect when you buy ribbon on sale I asked myself trying to see through my glitter covered eyelashes. Anywho, I finally was disgusted and said to myself and to all of you....ENOUGH . So here is my card for the Friday challenge at
Sharon Johnson's notimetostamp blog. The boughs are stamped with a stamp from Santa Rosa and is a very old stamp ( though not as old as some people I know) and the phrase is from DeNami. And you know about the glittery ribbon. So that's it my friends and foes. Have a great weekend and keep those fingers dirty but stay away from cheap ribbon. Pay a little extra because you're worth it.

Friday Challenge...Background Foreground

This was a super simple card done with background paper from Deja Views and the foreground is a rub on sticker. My phrase is DeNami. Fast, quick, and you are done by adding some bling which is stick on black like rinestones. Have a great weekend to you all.

Friday Challenge Christmas in July

This is a Penny Black Poinsettia and the Merry Christmas is from DeNami. Just used a marine color blue cardstock and for my ink I used Kalidescope. Added a bit of turqois glitter to sparkle up the flower. Simple yet pretty.

Friday Challenge

This is for the Friday challenge on No Time to Stamp. You have to have stitches on the card. I used pretend or "faux" because I'm not that great on striaght stitching. This stamp is a very old one from Embossing Arts and it's just stamped in perm. black so I could use my water colored pencils. The expression is from DeNaime. The background sea shell is from JRL design.Reminds me of sitting on a beach in North Carolina. Peaceful and calm. Hope you all have a wonderful Mother's Day weekend.
