Tea Party Came and Went Wahoo!!!

Well the tea party was yesterday and we will be able to send a slew of kids off to summer camp as we made over $10,000. Can you believe it? Well we had an anoymous donor who matched up to our first $4000 and we made the rest to bring in some really good money this year. It just gets better and better. We are all so very happy especailly the director of the foster care services we are dealing with. We will see many happy young faces this August boarding the bus and heading over to Lk. Michigan to have a wonderful week. Life is good and I'm sure enjoying it.
Forgot to say...my baby quilt sold for a whopping big $75 to a lady who is expecting her first grandchild. She was going crazy wild with the bidding and I was so pleased she got it.

Yippee! Way to go! It's nice to know that there is still some generosity in these tough economic times and there's something good happening because of it. Will be watching very closely to see just how generous you are ~ will your loyal readers be stuffing themselves with stuffed brownies or not?

Pat, with this generous donor and a matching grant from Thrivent ( a Lutheran fundraising/grant matching (nearly 49% not quite 50) gifting group for other non-profits making community difference kick in with a bit more punch) next year's gaggle of geese excitement honking foster kids loading buses for Lake Michigan will be even louder. Contact Thrivent for some matching action. They are matching funds (almost straight across) raised by six churches this coming Sunday supporting the local youth center! RYC so needs support dollars as many layoffs here really sap spare bucks for kids' activities in a safe enviro featuring nutritious summer snacks and winter yummies. Volunteers have been dollar stretched to the max and are out reminding people of the coverage the Youth Center gives area youth since no one is carded for origin of school! only age appropriate to junior high night or high school night. Volunteers have gone so far as making once a quarter time for fifth and sixth graders to get a taste for Youth Center rules, regs, and manners interacting with each other and the volunteers. The place is down to pledges to meet the electricity bill and $100 monthly rent. Pray for the fundraiser to be all it can be.
Thrilled to read of all those camp scholarships for foster kids this summer!!! How genuinely fun for you and the fundraiser crew to wave as the buses pull out for L.M.
Keep Looking UP!
